State Champs! 9u Outlasts Myers Park

It wasn't Mason Myers' farthest hit of his life, but his infield single in the bottom of the 6th Thursday scored Weston Phillip and the Bull City 9u All-Stars claimed the State championship, 18-17 over Myers Park.

The final run scored just shy of 11 p.m. after a Myers Park win earlier in the night forced a deciding winner-take-all contest in Wilson. It was the third time the teams met in the state tournament with Bull City getting the upper hand in two -- including the most important one.

The banner win capped a 9-game playoff run for the team managed by Jeremy Edmunds. They went 6-3 on their path to the crown, including grabbing two wins against South Durham.
