Yankees, Phillies, Red Sox, Royals, Lady Devils, Huskies win tourney titles







DURHAM -- BCLL concluded its fall season with the final championship games played Thursday night. There were a number of exciting finishes to cap a successful three months out on the fields.

National
The #2 Yankees defeated the #1 Indians 5-3 on Thursday night, riding the pitching of Noah Eastwood, Lucas Setji, Thomas McDermott and Justin Wilcox to squeak past the Indians.

The Indians were the regular season champs (pictured), losing only once before Thursday.

American
The Phillies defeated the Cubs 12-2 on Wednesday to put an exclamation point on a dominant season. With pitchers such as Callum Page, JonLuke Harper, Alvin Renteral Pulido and Noam Cohen leading the way, the Phillies only lost once all year.

Machine Pitch
The #5 Red Sox rallied in the sixth inning to top the #3 Blue Jays 15-12.  The Blue Jays led by three runs heading into the Red Sox's final at-bat, but Michael Somers' team scored six to claim the machine pitch title.

Rookie
The Royals capped a strong season at BCLL's youngest level by prevailing over the Cardinals 17-17 courtesy of a tie-breaker, which went the Royals' way by virtue of recording more outs than their opponents.

Softball Kid Pitch
The Lady Devils defeated the Flames 15-5 to close out a season in which they only lost once.

Softball Machine Pitch
The Huskies surprised the Diamond Crushers to earn the championship.
